anthropologie inspired bracelets {working title}

I saw this tutorial over at Sew.Craft.Create. and KNEW I had to try it for myself.

So I did.

And then I add some Kelby flair.

And I'm obsessed with the final product.

OBSESSED.

I found that broadcloth works better than most fabrics. I think it's just easier to work with.
however, that is simply my opinion. which you didn't ask for...but I'm giving it to you anyways.

I think these look like something right out of Anthropologie...if I do say so myself!!

the summer of ROCK.

I love jewelry/accessories/etc. I love it all. I love giant statement pieces that really catch people's attention.

Better yet, I love cheap...er, I mean inexpensive DIY projects.

With all of that in mind...I introduce you to my ROCK RINGS!!!
(it's working title...so work with me on this.)

So here ya go. I found these rocks. They are small, somewhat flat and light weight.

perfect.

I got out a can (or two) of spray paint, my favorite Martha Stewart glitter (mixed with Mod Podge of course) and ta da......ROCK RINGS (working title)

duh. how fab is this????

I'm working on some different colors too, but I just couldn't wait to get this project up on the bloggity blog!

(please try not to notice my crooked ring finger...it's an old softball injury from back in the day.)

I'm like a bird. I'll only fly away.

I love feathers. Lots and lots of feathers. I wanna fly in the sky.
Wait, what?

Regardless, I do. I love me some feathers. Feather me right up. So I decided to take my new obsession (feathers) and make them wearable.

I wore these red ones to work the other day--totally felt like a rockstar in them.

peacock feathers make me happy.

There are many things in life that I love. And while I could go on and on with a list of "Kelby's Loves", I digress. I'll just mention one in this post.

Peacock Feathers. lovelovelove them. Everything about them. My best friend's sister got married this summer and had a peacock feather theme. I was in heaven!

So it should come as no surprise that I decided to make a (long-overdue) peacock feather necklace. I felt totally inspired on New Year's Day and whipped this bad boy out in a few hours.

I think it has an Anthropologie feel do it. And it's supposed to be off-centered when you wear it...with more feathers on the side. Seriously, I'm so in love with this. It may just be one of my most favorite things that I've ever made. :)
