francesca models...hats!!

Francesca's been busy lately (she's my styrafoam head model....apparently, I felt the need to give her a name and now refer to her as that name. don't ask.)

Aaaannyyway. Francesca's been out on the balcony a lot these past few nights modeling her little styrafoam heart out. Doesn't she look fabulous?

The Red Poppie hat--flower is made out of red/green felt.
The flower is removeable and can be worn anywhere.

This hat has no name right now. I just can't get inspired to name it. But look how pretty? Navy blue with a hot pink flower. Totes awesome.

It's the suPURDUEper hat! Perfect for all of those Boilermaker fans out there!! Boiler up peeps!
Again, the flower is removeable (all my flowers are removeable!)

It's suPURDUEper!

Another no-namer. Geez...my creativity is lacking here.

I am totes in love with this flower though. How cute are the vintage buttons?

And the Ocean Breeze at Sunset Divine Hat. Who doesn't love the Divine Hat?? (free pattern found at http://www.rheatheylia.com/)

the summer of ROCK.

I love jewelry/accessories/etc. I love it all. I love giant statement pieces that really catch people's attention.

Better yet, I love cheap...er, I mean inexpensive DIY projects.

With all of that in mind...I introduce you to my ROCK RINGS!!!
(it's working title...so work with me on this.)

So here ya go. I found these rocks. They are small, somewhat flat and light weight.

perfect.

I got out a can (or two) of spray paint, my favorite Martha Stewart glitter (mixed with Mod Podge of course) and ta da......ROCK RINGS (working title)
duh. how fab is this????

I'm working on some different colors too, but I just couldn't wait to get this project up on the bloggity blog!

(please try not to notice my crooked ring finger...it's an old softball injury from back in the day.)

I totally jacked this idea from http://ispy-diy.blogspot.com/2011/01/stone-ring.html and I don't even feel bad about because her blog is AWESOME!!!!!

Sure. It's 90+ degrees here in Indy...and yet, I'm crocheting my life away on hats for the fall and winter. Oh well. I just can't help myself.

I decided to spruce things up a bit and add some festive-ness to my broadcloth flowers. I have a {slight} feather obsession...so why not add some feathers to the flowers?

ta da!!!!! Don't you just love the way it looks??

I almost can't wait until fall to bust these out!! I'll be adding these to our Etsy site this week!!

Fourth of July weekend. Happy Birthday 'Merica.

I spent the weekend in this FABULOUS city!! I love that Chicago is a hop, skip and a jump from me (er...well more like a 3 hour drive, but whatevs).

So Sarah and I hopped in the trust ole Scion and hit the road. And what should our wandering eyes should appear??

This beautiful skyline!!! Ahhh, doesn't it just relax you instantly? (minus all the dang traffic).

We went to visit my dear friend Lindsay. Linds and I went to high school/middle school/Purdue together. She's one of my most favorite people in my life right now and I love that she's making such a fantastic life for herself in Chicago. I don't get to see her nearly enough, but I sincerely love this girl and cannot spend time with her without laughing my arse off!

Our other friend from high school/middle school/not-Purdue Emily (who lived in Chicago with Linds but now has her own condo...with a ROOFTOP view!) had a white party Saturday night!

And if you know me but at all, you know that I never turn my nose up at a theme. I simply adore themes. Like you wouldn't believe.

So we decked out in our (white) finest and headed over to Em's. We felt like P. Diddy. In the Hamptons. What up gangsta?!?!?!?!
We dined on delicious food (grilled out) and then watched all the fireworks from all over Chicago (insert Katy Perry song here). Seriously, fireworks were going off in every direction. I'm so glad Sa-Rah could go with me this weekend! We had such a fun time there...and our trip home was hilarious! Let's just say that we aren't the best singers...but we sing loudly!

Happy Birthday 'Merica!

shannon and larry's wedding {stuff}

I have a super good friend, Josh, from high school. Seriously. He's one of my best, oldest and closest friends. Anyway, he has a little sister Shannon.

I say "little" because when Josh and I were in high school, Shannon was in elementary school and that's how I always picture her! But she's not little anymore. She's grown up. And getting married. This weekend. To an awesome guy named Larry (who also went to our high school. What can I say? Stick with what you know!)

Shannon asked me to tap into my creative juices and help her out with some of her wedding {stuff}. Of course I obiliged. Not only because I lovelovelove weddings. But I lovelovelove Shannon, Josh and the entire Tucker family.

Her wedding colors are teal, purple, hot pink and bright green. Hello?? How could you NOT love that color combo?? Doesn't it scream happiness? I loved it and I knew I would have so much fun with this!

First up...the gift card box. I am toats in love with how it turned out
(P.S. "toats" or "toats mcgee" is short for "totally". I tend to make up my own words.)

I, of course, love any and all things sparkly....so when Shannon gave me creative freedom, I added some bling.

The flowers are made out of broadcloth and ribbon. And I love feathers, so I added some for good measure. Luckily, Shannon loved it too!!

Next up: the flower girl basket and the ring bearer pillow. Their main accent color for the church is purple, so we decided to stick with that for the rest of the goodies.

How do you not love purple feathers?
Oh and excuse my glue gun strings left on the pillow in this picture. My bad!

Last, but not least, the guest book. I actually really love doing guest books because I love refashioning things. So here, I just took an old scrapbook and spray painted it purple (because life is better with a can of spray paint and a glue gun. duh.)

I added some white ribbon, white feathers and some bling...and here ya go!

I also decided to personalize the pages of the book with their monograms (because I also love monograms). I printed the pages on white linen paper! I'm obsessed with how it turned out. Hopefully the bride loves it just as much as I do!!

I love feathers. Lots and lots of feathers. I wanna fly in the sky.
Wait, what?

Regardless, I do. I love me some feathers. Feather me right up. So I decided to take my new obsession (feathers) and make them wearable.

feather earrings!!!!!

I wore these red ones to work the other day--totally felt like a rockstar in them.
